During our user research, we discovered that users were having difficulty navigating between different sporting events. To address this, I redesigned the navigation system by implementing a carousel. This carousel features each sporting team with clear visual cues, such as their logo and team name abbreviation, making it easy for users to identify and access the events they are interested in. This new navigation method significantly improved the user experience by making it quicker and easier for users to find sporting events. As a result, user engagement across various events increased.
The redesign aimed to encourage users to engage with player stat markets, such as disposals in AFL or points in basketball. Previously, there was no convenient way to access these markets in one place. To address this, I reorganised the markets into a tab flow called Grid View. Instead of being buried in menus, stat markets were now instantly accessible upon loading a sporting event. This, combined with the new navigational carousel, enabled users to quickly engage with player stat markets for their current event and other events they were interested in.
Another goal of this redesign was to boost user engagement with the Head to Head market while providing more context about the current sporting event. To achieve this, I incorporated team logos above the Head to Head market selection buttons, highlighting the Head to Head odds button as a primary call to action. This also helped users easily identify which teams were involved in the event.
Finally, I designed a table that displayed players' playing statistics. This table was intended to encourage users to stay on the Sportsbet app instead of seeking out other sources for player statistics. I ensured the table aesthetically matched the rest of the sporting event page while clearly illustrating the required information. Due to space limitations, I used iconography in place of text where necessary.
